- Lily got hold of the sour cream and ate it with a spoon like soup,
- Elsie, upon hearing that I thought she was our scariest child, made threatening growling sounds and pretended to eat me,
- Timmy went to a birthday party centered around a gymnastics lesson,
- Abby doesn't like to be called anything but "Abby"–no Abigail or Abersauce permitted,
- Kate decided to fast a full 24 hours and was a lump on the floor for the last three hours (maybe two meals is a better idea for her),
- Gina made a meal including pineapple red curry, galangal soup, and bok choy salad, and
- I wore my Snap, Crackle, Pop T-shirt for the first time.
Recanting: I won’t be posting more chapters.

I’m still writing 6 days a week and just finished chapter 5. However, from this point on, I think I will stop posting my chapters. If you want to follow along email me or leave a comment and I’ll email you chapters as they come out.
Valentine’s week
February 15, 2009
- Lily climbed onto the table from her seat every chance she got,
- Elsie wouldn't let Kate put away the flannel dolls because she wanted them to be put away "beautiful,"
- Timmy stayed home sick Wednesday and Thursday and then wanted to skip Friday so he wouldn't have to wait, excited all day for his Valentine's party (but Gina didn't let him skip)
- Abby did her own hair for school pictures,
- Kate, after hearing the names of all seven of Gina's siblings twice still couldn't guess whose aunts and uncles the primary teacher was naming,
- Gina helped the school picture photographers take class pictures, and
- I got a complete physical (yes, including that) and was pronounced to be "ridiculously healthy."

- Lily helped me draw a pretty princess for Elsie on Kate and Abby's chalk board,
- Elsie has been consciously perfecting the evil laugh (that's what she calls it) that somehow came naturally to her,
- Timmy was more willing to put away the dishes and set the table than in any other week yet (this had something to do with the Wii),
- Abby got a small stuffed koala in appreciation for good behavior at school,
- Kate held her own against me in miniature soccer,
- Gina out ate me at a Chinese buffet, focusing particularly on sauteed jumbo shrimp, and
- Our review was published in Nature this Wednesday.
A fun Wiik

- Lily's favorite phrases were "wait a minute" and "hold on",
- Elsie created and then ate a penguin out of whipped cream and Oreos,
- Timmy had a play date and went to a birthday party on the same day,
- Abby fasted 24 hours for her first time,
- Kate gave her Pocahontas presentation,
- Gina cleaned the carpets, and
- I saw three Wii consoles at the Wal-Mart in Espaniola and bought one of them.
